You look at your partner and see all your flaws under a magnifying glass. This is a painful connection based on projections: what irritates you in them is exactly what you carefully hide in yourself. The partner acts as a mirror, unconsciously mimicking your manners, tone, and even your claims. At first, it seems like a soul connection ('we are so alike!'), but quickly devolves into an absurd theater where two actors try to outplay each other in the same role. Fights here are cyclical and meaningless. You accuse them of selfishness — they mirror back the accusation. You withdraw — they also fall silent. You will never get from them what you don’t give yourself. Sex can feel strange, as if you're making love to yourself: lots of technique, but little contact with a real person. There’s often the sense that your partner is wearing a mask, but the truth is that you are the one who put that mask on them. In business, confusion reigns. Both wait for the other to take the initiative, both are afraid to take responsibility, yet criticize any steps taken. This swamp pulls you in. To be together without losing your mind, you need to stop seeking your reflection in your partner and start seeing a separate individual. Stop 'raising' them; otherwise, you’re just fighting with your own shadow.
